Learn from tiny ants

Tiny ants speak...
In December afternoon I am taking respite under a giant tree after hard time in a scorching sun. It is cool and fine. The breeze comes its way while the leaves follow its rhythm. I feel relieved and relaxed appreciating the beauty of nature. Nature has always been kind to me, I think myself. I am having interesting time learning from nature.

Looking down, I see a dead grass hopper; there is an ant beside it. I start observing. I don’t know how my attention got to it but I want to concentrate on it. Gradually he heads closer towards the death. Stand still for few seconds as if gathering the courage for the fight if it is not dead or trying to make some gestures. Then makes two to three rounds like we circumambulate the temple. May be checking for a weapon, I thought, curiously waiting for the very next moment. Finally gets very close to it by smelling it. Then steps back and again stands still. This time he must be planning, I whisper to myself. Again makes few steps ahead, now he holds the dead tightly.

I don’t know how the dead hopper must have felt, for me getting a bite from ant is really unbearable, sometimes bringing tears. I still remember my childhood days when I cried with full heart after getting bite from an ant. Not wasting much time he tries to pull it. I giggle at myself, thinking how such a small ant can carry this huge hopper. He does not hesitate to pull it for several times. First he tries pulling from leg; he can make only few movements. Then goes to the head and pull its antenna, no way. Takes some rest and tries from the abdomen. Nothing works. He stays there for some time, again making few rounds, searching for the best part. I just whisper, give up yeah, no way. Maybe he hears me. He goes away. I think myself given up.

But before I can leave. Within a split of seconds, he arrives with his gangs of twelve or thirteen. They gather together for the responsibilities. Then start following their responsibilities. One goes to head, another to abdomen and others for respective legs. They pick up the dead grass hopper with easiness and march towards their home. Wow! What a splendid idea, I thought myself. Excellent and beautiful idea.

If ants can do that much, why we can’t? Obstacles turn to success if we marry our ideas and cooperate for oneness. In this way we can find the solution to every problem. Cooperation and integrity play high yielding role towards the path of fruition. Remember, “A lone hand finds even wool a weight.”  We got to think much more than our present thoughts and need to act more than our present actions.
